I’m a pretty big fan of Mary’s work but recently in an interview she said a few things that make me think shes out of touch with her fan base. Now Mary J Blige has never been one to shy away from showing off her expensive lifestyle but now that she claims to be a born again Christian does she really have to justify her expenses by saying God wants her to bling?
Mary J Blige explains, “My God is a God who wants me to have things. He wants me to bling. He wants me to be the hottest thing on the block. I don’t know what kind of God the rest of y’all are serving, but the God I serve says, ‘Mary, you need to be the hottest thing this year, and I’m gonna make sure you’re doing that.’”

Apparently while recording her new single “Enough Cryin” Mary J Blige was extremely impressed by rapper 59 cent’s intelligence, so much so that she now considers him a family friend.
Mary says “Me and my husband took him as a friend. He’s someone we know we could talk to and call on if we have a question because, quite frankly, 50 is very intelligent and we really appreciate his expertise and we really appreciate his opinions.”

Oooo reportedly reporter Wendy Wheaton and Mary J Blige have joined togather to start a contest in which a lucky fan could win a diamond bracelet for Wendy Wheatons new jewlery collection, the contest is being backed by Dolce Diamante so you know the bracelet will be a good one.
Details of the contest have yet to be released but we are eagerly waiting for new information and will post it here when it is released.

Superstar Mary J Blige has been confirmed to make an appearence on the hit daytime soap “One Life To Live” sometime in the next month. The singer was hired to perform two songs live (likely chosen from her latest album) at the shows fictional night club “Capricorn”
Executive producer Frank Valenti says, “The cast and I, being huge fans of Mary J. Blige’s tremendous talent, are thrilled that she will be appearing in One Life To Live.”

Yay… Mary J Blige went to the BET (Black Entertainment Television) awards last night with lofty expectations and did she sure put the men in their place, Mary, Kanyra West & Jamie Foxx both walked away from the Los Angeles awards ceremony with two awards each!
Mary J Blige grabbed herself the Best Female R&B artist award and shares the Best Video award with Kanye West and Jamie Foxx who recieved their share of the award for their work in Be Without You and Gold Digger.
Also of note Chaka Khan was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, definately a well deserved nod.
